Finance Officer Vacancy in PDI Karachi
Participatory Development Initiatives (PDI) is a nongovernmental organization working in Sindh and Punjab provinces of Pakistan. PDI intends to hire the services of a Finance Officer for its current project in Karachi.
 Main tasks and Responsibilities
 Under the supervision of Executive Director, the finance officer is responsible for following job roles and responsibilities.
  • Assist with preparation of the budget.
  • Implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain cash controls.
  • Prepare all types of vouchers as required by the PDI Accounting System.
  • Establish, maintain separate books of accounts i.e. Cash book, Bankbook, ledger and advance register and reconcile the general ledger.
  • Ensure data is entered into the system.
  • Issue cheques for all accounts due.
  • Ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerized accounting system.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Prepare quarterly reports and report on variances.
  • Prepare the donor reports.
  • Facilitate Annual Audit Report and Donors Audit report of the project
  • Maintain financial files and records.
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor and undertakes other duties as required.
 Knowledge and Skills
The incumbent must have proficient knowledge and skills in the following areas:
  • computerized accounting programs
  • accounts payable and accounts receivables
  • generally accepted accounting principles
  • preparation of financial statements
  • preparation of financial reports
  • payroll systems and reporting
  • Accounting and bookkeeping Skills
